The Wright Venue is 1!

The nightclub name that’s been on every ones lips in the last year, The Wright Venue celebrates its very first birthday on 23rd July and its been 12 months of top name DJs and live acts jam packed Friday and Saturday nights and special events from the Apprentice Live Final to Miss Universe Ireland at the 2700 capacity venue in Airside, Dublin.

50 cent, Rihanna and Tinie Tempah have all thrown party’s in the club and with a line up of guest Dj’s including Roger Sanchez, Adrina from The Hill’s and the Reverend Run from Run DMC, the next 12 months look like being even more spectacular.

So we intend to celebrate in style and to kick off proceedings there is a whole host of special happenings to look forward to. In the Main Room the coolest clubbing brand in the world Fierce Angel return with an all star line up of K-Klass & Mark Doyle together with live percussion & Saxaphone. Fierce Angel threw an amazing party at WV in April and with it being a complete sell out, they were a natural choice to headline the 1st Birthday Celebrations.

The Purple Room will feature Buck Taylor Europe’s top James Brown tribute artist, while in the Penthouse there will be a guest dj set by Paul Webb and a very special live performance from the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. Heralded as one of the best live shows in the world at the moment, this Chicago 8 piece return to Ireland to join in the WV celebrations direct from the main stage at Glastonbury where they played on the main stage with Gorillaz !

Wright Venue members will have get their invites in the post this week but for everyone else admission is on the door from 10pm priced just €15..

After an amazing Sunday show at Oxegen where they played their own set on the Vodafone Stage alongside The Prodigy and Professor Green before joining their homeboy Eminem on the main stage, Detroit hip hop legends D12 threw a party at the Wright Venue last Wednesday. Check the gallery for photos

In Dublin for a few days before continuing their European Tour next weekend, the 5 piece immortallised in the movie 8 mile joined Eminem’s Dj the Alchemist to party at the award winning club’s midweek party Wet n’Wild alongside residents Frank Jez & Tando.

D12 are the latest in a string of top hip hop talent to come and party at the Wright Venue in 2010 joining 50 Cent, Rihanna and Tinie Tempah ! The latest superstar party comes ahead of the club’s extravagant 1st Birthday Party on Friday 23rd July with the world’s coolest clubbing label Fierce Angel heading up a huge line up.

Friday 16th saw a star studded party at the Wright Venue as 21 of the country’s most beautiful battled it out on the catwalk to be crowned Miss Ireland Universe.

In other news Tinie Tempah headed up the posse who came to party at the Wright Venue on Friday to escape the mud of Oxegen. Tinie and his crew made their second visit to the Wright Venue in a month after coming last month to Rhianna’s end of tour wrap party. Dj’s Dean Sherry and Mark Downes as the biggest party in Dublin kicked on until late with the likes of Georgia Salpa, Rosanna Davidson, Karen Coster and Lisa Cannon partying until late in the Penthouse and a full house downstairs in the main room as the Wright Venue unveiled it’s new in house performers !

Once one quarter of the most influential dance act in the world, Leeroy Thornhill has blazed a Robbie William’s esque trail through the dance music world establishing himself in the very upper echelons of all that is cool and credible in the world’s top clubs.
He returns to Dublin for this quarterly residency at the Wright Venue this Friday June 18th following hard on the heels of the club’s sell out Bank Holiday Sunday with Dirty Vegas doing a live sound system show in the club’s epic main room.
He jets into Dublin directly from a sold out Far Eastern where he played the region’s top clubs from Zouk in Singapore to the Apartment in Dubai and jets out the next morning to headline the biggest Greek Festival of the summer Brainstorm .
His Wright Venue show will be his last irish club show of the year as he rejoins his old band mates for their headline slots at all the major festivals like V, Bestival and Roskilde spinning the huge party sound that is Miami Bass and dropping in lots of Prodigy classics !

He headlines another huge weekend at the Wright Venue as the award winning club builds up to it’s first birthday weekend in July when none other than the immaculate Ms. Grace Jones will headline !

One of the biggest world selling rappers 50 Cent hosted his after show party in the Wright Venue on Sunday ( 21st March ) after performing a mega gig in the O2. He was joined by G Unit, with special guests DJ Frank Jez on the desks in the main club and DJ Byron in The Penthouse. He surprised clubbers by mingling with them in the main club rather than hanging out in the VIP area.

50’s DJ, Wu Kid also played a set on the decks and got the crowd going wild!

Discovered by rapper Eminem in 2002 and signed to Interscope Records, 50 rose to fame with the release of his albums ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (2003) and the Massacre (2005) Both albums achieved mulit platinum success , selling more that twenty-one millions . Billboard named him #1 Rap Song Artist of the 2000-2009 decade.

Now on his fourth album, ‘Before I Self-Destruct’, with the first single “Baby By Me” featuring Ne-Yo is already burning up charts, and the video features Kelly Rowland as his love interest.

We were all ready and waiting for Marvin, Aston, JB & Oritse to arrive last Saturday 27th February! The boys had visited us back in November 2009, and enjoyed WV so much that they wanted to come back for more!

After their show stopping concert they arrived in style will a entourage which included the very sexy girl group Phacebook, who are supporting them on their tour, and partied in the very famous VIP room, Scarface.

Not only are the guys talented and gorgeous, they know how to have fun and party! They even came down to the main club and waved at all the guests who were dancing along to their hit track ‘Beat again’! JLS are most definitely fans of The Wright Venue, and we will be sure to see them again very soon!!

[SinglePic not found]Guests Celebrate Smirnoff Be There, The Wedding Nightat The Wright Venue, SwordsSMIRNOFF® celebrated the next phase of the SMIRNOFF® Be There campaign with a Smirnoff Be There, The Wedding Night at The Wright Venue,  on Friday 26th February 2010.Guests embraced ‘The Wedding Night’ as the theme and came in costume with ladies in dresses from 80’s puffballs to colourful bridesmaids dresses complete with hats and veils, whilst gents came dressed to impress in tuxedos and suits. Guests attending Smirnoff Be There, The Wedding Night party at The Wright Venue, included a selection of VIP’s, media and socialites.
